Notes from the dye bath
We dye in limited batches on purpose. It is slower, less predictable, and the only way we know to get color this honest.

A shade starts with a reference. Fabric gives it character.
In the dye bath, cotton takes color in its own way. A tone can deepen, soften or shift from what we first imagined. That is where the work of Udupp Color Lab begins.
We test each shade on our fabric. Study it in daylight and under studio lights. Wash it, compare it and refine it, returning to the bath when it needs another adjustment.
A color on a screen is a starting point. What matters is how it lives on the T-shirt: in the folds, across the cotton, out in the sun and through repeated wear.
Those differences deserve attention. They shape the colors we choose to put our name on.
“Every Udupp Color Lab shade is developed on cotton, considered in light and tested through washing, until it feels right to wear.”
